THESIS BACKGROUND & EARLY WORK
“Life creates conditions conducive to life.”
The theme for my Master of Arts in Sustainable Design thesis draws upon my background in architecture and construction, along with the need for practical, accessible, and functioning ecologically sound responses to the built environment.
The client project referred to in the thesis was initially inspired by these 3 living system themes:
sense and respond
restore & regenerate
adapt & evolve
SITE
The site is comprised of two parcels totaling 448 acres located in a Northern California oak woodland facing a lake to the west.
